Second Annual Nevada Summit Proves a Big Success

Leaders from across Nevada are putting new energy into expanding local broadband services! This week’s State Broadband Summit made a big impact as Connect Nevada works toward making sure every resident has the computer and Internet skills they need to succeed in today’s economy. The state’s second annual Summit, called Connecting Communities, drew nearly a hundred attendees to the Windmill Library in Las Vegas as well as dozens of viewers who watched the event via live web stream. Rural Broadband Barriers Revealed at Annual WSSA Conference

Scholars are taking home a better understanding of the Nevada and Texas broadband landscape thanks to an important conference last week in Houston. Connect Nevada’s Chris McGovern and Elizabeth Riesser were on hand at the 54th Annual Conference of the Western Social Science Association (WSSA) to shed light on the reasons why people in rural areas do or do not use broadband across the states.
